Re: does Bobby get enough love? |
I'm in agreement that Weir was a fantastically unique and wonderful guitar player, who does get a lot of undeserved harsh criticism, but that his style in terms of guitar and vocals got annoying in the 80's. When you really listen to Bobby in the 68-74 (or even 76) range, he is doing really really fantastic stuff in there. In the 80's he got too "angular" (overused cliche Weir term, but I've always found it fitting), and I got tired of hearing him say "ya'll" in The Other One. Otherwise, nothing but thumbs up for Bobby from this Deadhead.
